Understanding CPA Score Releases
Continuous Testing
Since 2024, the CPA exam operates under continuous testing -- you can test year-round with no blackout periods. Scores are released on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Release Timeline
Scores are typically released 2-3 weeks after the close of each testing window. NASBA and the AICPA release scores in waves on target dates listed above.
Score of 99 (Credit Pending)
A “score of 99” or “Credit Pending” status means your exam is undergoing additional review by the AICPA. This may delay your official score by several weeks. It does not indicate pass or fail.
Advisory Scores
Advisory (unofficial) scores may appear on the NASBA candidate portal before your state board releases official results. Advisory scores are reliable but not final until confirmed by your state board.
Passing Score
You need a score of 75 or higher to pass each CPA exam section. Scores range from 0 to 99.
