Building an EMS Resume That Gets Interviews

Highlight certifications, clinical experience, and soft skills in a clear one-page resume.

November 23, 2024

Lead With Credentials

List your NREMT certification, state license, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and other relevant certifications near the top. Include expiration dates and license numbers where appropriate. Employers scan quickly, so clarity matters.

Show Experience

Describe clinical rotations, internships, and volunteer work with specific details. Use action verbs and measurable results, such as number of patient contacts or hours of field time. Include relevant jobs in healthcare, military, or public safety.

Keep It Clean

Keep the resume to one page, use consistent formatting, and proofread carefully. Avoid personal information such as age or photos. Provide references who can speak to your work ethic and clinical skills.
