Best Study Schedule for the LCSW Exam: Week-by-Week Plan

Follow this proven week-by-week LCSW study schedule covering all content domains, practice exams, and review sessions across a 10-week preparation period.

A Proven 10-Week Study Schedule

Having a structured study schedule is one of the strongest predictors of LCSW exam success. This 10-week plan is designed for working professionals who can dedicate 10 to 15 hours per week to exam preparation. It covers all four content domains systematically, incorporates regular practice exams, and builds in review time to reinforce your learning.

Before You Begin: Preparation Week

Before starting the 10-week schedule, take one week to set yourself up for success. This preparation phase establishes your baseline and helps you customize the study plan to your specific needs.

Preparation Week Tasks

  • Score your exam and identify your strongest and weakest content areas
  • Gather your study materials (review guides, practice question banks, flashcards)
  • Set up your study space and eliminate distractions
  • Block out study times on your calendar for the next 10 weeks
